Preserve your special moments with high quality photographs.
I am now twice retired and enjoying life as a freelance photographer. I retired from the US Navy in 1998 after 25 years as both an enlisted radar tech and a commissioned officer (LDO).
After that I worked as a defense contractor for 5 year before becoming a Civil Servant. I retired for the last time in the spring of 2024 after 21 years of service as a Program Manager at Naval Air Systems Command, otherwise known as NAVAR.
While I am not a professional, I have professional camera equipment and a powerful post processing studio. This makes the final products better and elevates my enjoyment. Nothing like the right tools for the job.
When I say freelance photographer I stress that I do not work for or receive pay from any entity or company and I do NOT sell any photos or products as most do.
I have dabbled in photography most of my life. All the way back to dark room developing black and white film. Technology has changed the landscape beyond belief.
Photography is my hobby. It keeps me moving and busy learning new things.
I have 15 grandchildren of which many are engaged in sports so I have gravitated to shooting high school sporting events. I do this to capture moments that I personally cherish but also to make them available at no cost to my extended family in the community, that's YOU.
Many photographers would be inclined to call my photographs art because I do not publish them in their native form. This is not a site for pixel peepers.
I do a lot of editing in post using primarily Lightroom. I enjoy making an average shot into something a mother would proudly put on a Christmas card/letter to extended family or on social media. To that end I use tight crops that can often become portraits. I frequently add bokeh (background blurring) and vignetting to make the subject pop. With that said, you still have to get the shot.
I would like to thank the coaching staff at Leonardtown High School for enabling me to be an extended part of the teams.
I hope you enjoy my work.
